We are Strong Towns Grand Rapids

We are looking to make our city better for all. As part of the Strong Towns movement, we align with the following five core campaign ideas.

SAFE & PRODUCTIVE STREETS

Last Thursday, we had another win brought on by our planning commission! Thank you to all of our planning commissioners for tabling the discussion, and for pushing back on Corewell Health.

Corewell’s plan to create surface parking in the Monroe North neighborhood is going before the planning commission. We would appreciate any action from the Strong Towns GR community to write to our Planning Commission, and to voice your concern

So, @corewellhealth, you have all this valuable land and a potential to change and help our downtown. If you don’t know what you can do, take a look at some of our ideas for what you can do with all this land! Don’t worry, we won’t

Oh look, another day we captured no cars in the @corewellhealth parking lot. But at least it was sunny! I’m so sure they need all this space. Maybe if they keep ignoring what makes a city a city people will come.

Let’s play a game! @corewellhealth has a huge new medical campus in downtown Grand Rapids and it has WAY too many parking spaces. They say they’re necessary, so let’s see how often their CarWell parking lot in the center of our city
