Corewell Health Place North Monroe Campus Special Land Use Permit
633, 637, & 647 Ottawa Ave NW - Surface Parking are going before the Grand Rapids Planning Commission for a Special Land Use for these parcels of land. This is for the construction of surface lot that will hold 39 spaces, once the current buildings have been demolished. The current narrative provided by Corewell that the intend is to replace this surface parking lot in the future with future development.

Current Buildings at 647 Ottawa. Since Corewell has purchased these building from previous occupants the buildings have been “unused and blighted buildings” per the project narrative.
The above photos have been taken between the dates of February 3rd and the 20th of 2025, all during business hours during the business week. With the current building usage and worker habits, we can see that ramp usage is quite good, however there is plenty of space still available in the ramps visible. The current surface lots have low use and it looks like it mostly building contractor use for oversized vehicles.
